PDO THREADS

PDO Threads: Services

WHAT IS PDO THREADS?

ThreadLift is a specialized cosmetic procedure used to achieve a facelift without surgery. California Skin Institute providers have extensive expertise using this procedure to address jowls, sagging eyebrows and cheeks, and other parts of the face that could benefit from a tightening effect. One of the reasons the ThreadLift has become so popular with our patients is that it’s minimally invasive and requires only local anesthesia, all the while producing a noticeable tightening effect. Further, the procedure typically leaves no visible scarring.

WHAT AREA CAN YOU GET PDO THREADS ON?

The thread lift can be performed on almost any part of your face that is experiencing signs of aging. The cheeks, jaw, neck, and eyes are among the most popular parts treated. Because thread lifts aren't as dramatic as facelifts, they're often used in conjunction with other anti-aging procedures, such as ultherapy or dermal fillers.

BENIFITS OF PDO THREADS

-The smooth sutures stimulate collagen production to rejuvenate your skin.
-A barb on each of these threads attaches to your skin like a small fishhook, providing support and lifting your face.
-Threads made of one or two interlocked threads used to restore volume to sunken areas of the body.

WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER THE PROCEDURE?

It is possible to experience some swelling and bruising around the area where the thread is inserted for the first two days. This should subside after three to four days. Some people also experience some skin redness after their first session. In most cases, this subsides in a few days and no treatment is necessary.  If you want to achieve maximum results, it is best not to smoke or drink alcohol throughout the entire procedure. The healing time may vary depending on the individual, but most people will take about three weeks before fully recovering. You can also expect some redness or swelling up until a month after the treatment.
